De Nux Distributors was founded on March 22, 2013 by Alexia Elichiry and her family in Little Rock, Arkansas. The mission of De Nux has always been to connect Arkansans with high quality wines and spirits from smaller producers around the world. Over the last decade, De Nux has assembled a portfolio designed to introduce new regions and styles to consumers across the state and challenge the status quo.
The Team
Alexia Elichiry - Founding Member, Director of Sales
Born in Los Angeles, reared in Little Rock, and with several stints in France in between, Alexia Elichiry is proud to bring her extensive wine knowledge and years of service industry experience back to her home state of Arkansas. Wine has always been in Alexia's blood. Her great-grandfather was a wine négociant in France. Call it genetics, but she has always been blessed with the gift of a good palate. Alexia is no stranger to Little Rock's fine dining scene, and her resumé includes Ciao Baci, where she was general manager, and Trio's, where she worked as a server and bar manager. Her restaurant background coupled with her French heritage and time spent in Aix-en-Provence gave Alexia a passion for wine, and that passion eventually became De Nux. Her favorite moments are around the dinner table with family and friends, and she absolutely treasures working alongside her family at De Nux. Outside of work, Alexia likes to travel, and get her hands dirty in the garden.
Ben Singleton- Central AR Sales Representative
Ben was born in Little Rock but moved frequently as a child while his father was in the Navy. He moved back to Little Rock at age 14. Over the last 10 years, he has managed a fast-casual bar in Denver, CO and then returned to Boulevard Bread in 2017 as bar manager. In both positions, he successfully developed programs that balanced comfort and familiarity with a drive to explore new recipes and products. Ben grew in his love and appreciation for wine while developing the wine list and cocktail menu for Boulevard for the last 5 years. In recent years, he launched a side project hosting cocktail classes to make the knowledge and skill of his trade accessible to all. He hosted monthly cocktail classes for 2 years starting in his own home and eventually partnering with the owners of Boulevard to offer classes in house with food pairings. His position with De Nux is the culmination of a personal and professional career that has only increased his love of the industry and the community found there. He has been married for 8 years and has three children ages 5 and under. His work continues to serve his love for travel, reading and finding the best products and recipes to be found on the market. Sierra Conner- NWA Sales Represenative
A Fayetteville local, Sierra holds a deep connection to the Ozark’s and the service industry that she cut her teeth in. From baking to bartending, she’s done it all. Most recently she served as a member of the administrative team and Wholesale Director for Pink House Alchemy ; a farm-to-table beverage company. It’s with this passion for beverage she comes to De Nux to conduct sales in NWA North. When not on duty you can find Sierra walking her dog, Pinto Bean or tinkering around town with her husband.
Ben Seay- Central AR Sales Representative
Born in Little Rock, but raised with a passion for travel, Ben has built his career by accumulating tastes and experiences that give him a unique perspective on the beverage industry. Ben cut his teeth bartending in Little Rock's live music venue scene before catching the craft cocktail bug and quickly worked his way up to becoming the Big Orange Midtown Bar Manager. While growing up, Ben was profoundly influenced by following his dad all over the world, so when he was offered the opportunity to move to Dubai to work, he couldn't say no. After moving back to the US in 2016, he landed in Austin, TX, where he moved into the distillery business by joining the team at Deep Eddy Vodka. After getting married, he and his wife moved back to Little Rock where Ben took on the role as Beverage Director for Yellow Rocket Concepts. Joining the De Nux team has allowed Ben to focus on his passions for the industry- menu curation, developing relationships, and bringing ideas from other places home.
Our Name
Early on, Alexia Elichiry (full name: Alexia Lauriane Christine Elichiry de Nux) knew she wanted to use her grandmother's family name as the name of her company. Genevieve “Ginette” de Nux was born into a French family tracing their lineage to the early 9th century. De Nux (pronounced "de nuhks,") literally translates to "nobile nut," referencing the abundance of nut trees near the de Nux family castle. Still standing in Barran, France is Château de Nux, which was taken from the family during the French Revolution.
The De Nux family crest depicts a crown with sixteen points, symbolizing the title of Count; three moons, symbolizing the three crusades Alexia's forefathers fought in; a chevron, symbolizing knights, the protectors of the castle; and a nut tree, for the Greco-Roman villa on which the castle was built, surrounded by nut trees. De denotes nobility, and nux is Latin for "nut." The family coat of arms is de Nux Distributors’ logo, mirroring Alexia's bond to family and tradition.
